See you in Jasper, Alberta!

In the summer of 2024, news broke of wildfires – caused by lightning – advancing through the region. Thirty percent of the town of Jasper was affected and is already rebuilding. Less than three percent of the overall National Park was affected by the forest fires.

Canada is considered a global leader in emergency management and the region was prepared with alternative itineraries. The town was commended for their efficient and safe management of residents and visitors thanks to much advance planning.

Demonstrating exceptional resilience and fortitude, Jasper’s residents are rebuilding the town in preparation to welcome visitors for the summer 2025 tourism season. GoMedia Canada Summit is an opportunity to support the town in this recovery, whilst also discussing the bigger story about resilience throughout Canada.

Jasper Alberta - man on horse with a view of mountains

Host destination

Jasper, Alberta

Welcome to Jasper, a down-to-earth mountain town at the northern edge of the Canadian Rockies within Jasper National Park. Towering mountains surround the Park’s shimmering glaciers, abundant wildlife, crystal-clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, deep canyons, and evergreen forests.

Jasper is an intimate, friendly, and inclusive community that welcomes anyone who wants to venture beyond and embrace their wild side. Here, it’s not uncommon to see classic Canadian wildlife like bears and elk right outside the window, catch dazzling northern lights shining across the night sky, or paddle across the glassy surface of turquoise blue mountain lakes.

At 11,228 square kilometers, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is also Canada’s largest park in the Rocky Mountains and the largest accessible Dark Sky Preserve in the world, reducing light pollution in all forms for ideal dark sky viewing.
